ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

A. Advanced Diploma (A1) in General nursing and Midwifery:

  1. The applicant has completed secondary education in MCB, PCB, BCG, Former Bio- Chimie or Math-Physique)
  2. Grade A, B, C, and D in Biology and Chemistry, plus at least a subsidiary in Mathematics, Physics, or Geography).
  3. A2 nurse, having a recent practical license, must have at least 2.5 points or satisfaction.
  4. The applicant who has studied abroad must provide equivalence from NESA.
  5. Ability to study in English.
  6. Copy of National ID or Valid Passport.

B. Bachelor of Science in Midwifery with Honours (Direct Entry programme):

  1. The applicant has completed secondary education in MCB, PCB, and BCG.
  2. Grade A, B, and C in Biology and Chemistry, plus at least a subsidiary in Mathematics, Physics, or Geography).
  3. The applicant who has studied abroad must provide equivalence from NESA.
  4. Ability to study in English.
  5. Copy of National ID or Valid Passport

C. Bachelor of Science in General Nursing  (Upgrading / Credit transfer):

  1. The applicant must have an advanced diploma in nursing obtained from Higher learning institutions in Rwanda.
  2. The applicant who has studied abroad must provide equivalence from HEC.
  3. The applicant with an average mark of 70% and above in each of the 3 years of advanced diploma in nursing education is to be admitted to the Bachelor of Science in General Nursing (BScN) programme without going through an interview or clinical practice experience.
  4. The applicant with an average mark range below 70 % to 65% in each of the 3 years of advanced diploma in nursing education will sit for selection interview before being admitted for the BScN programme.
  5. The applicant with an average mark of 65% in each of the 3 years of advanced diploma in nursing education must have had at least 2 years of clinical practice and shall sit for a selection interview before being admitted for the BScN programme.
  6. The applicant must have a license to practice as Registered Nurse, issued by NCNM
  7. Ability to study in English

D. Bachelor of Science in Midwifery(Upgrading/Credit transfer).

  1. The applicant must have an advanced diploma in midwifery obtained from Higher learning institutions in Rwanda.
  2. The applicant who has studied abroad must provide equivalence from HEC.
  3. The applicant with an average mark of 70% and above in each of the 3 years of advanced diploma in nursing education is to be admitted to the Bachelor of Science in midwifery (BScM) programme without going through an interview or clinical practice experience.
  4. The applicant with an average mark range below 70 % to 65% in each of the 3 years of advanced diploma in midwifery education will sit for a selection interview before being admitted for the BScM programme.
  5. The applicant with an average mark of 65% in each of the 3 years of advanced diploma in midwifery education must have had at least 2 years of clinical practice and shall sit for a selection interview before being admitted for the BScM programme.
  6. The applicant must have a license to practice as a Registered Midwifery, issued by NCNM.
  7. Ability to study in English.
