Studying at RHIH

Ruli Higher Institute of Health (RHIH) Sainte Rose de Lima offers the programme of Advanced Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery. It is in the process of open the Bachelor’s Degree in General Nursing with Honour.

The admission requirements for the aforementioned programmes are the following:

• Completion of secondary education in the following combinations: Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology (MCB), Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB), Biology, Chemistry, and Geography (BCG) with two principal passes in Biology and Chemistry and Subsidiary (S) in mathematics, physics or Geography.
• Associated Nurses (A2 Nurses) recognized by the National Council of Nurses and Midwives (NCNM).
• An applicant that completed High School from abroad must present proof of completion the secondary school delivered by Rwanda Education Board (REB).
• Our Nursing and midwifery programmes follow a competence-based approach, an integration-oriented methodology applied in many countries worldwide.

In most countries, the ratio of teacher to students is not the same, it will depend on, for example, the profession of study, regulatory bodies etc….

The standard ratio of teacher to students in Advanced Diploma programme in General Nursing and Midwifery at RHIH Sainte Rose de Lima is 1:10 in clinical practice and 1:22 in theoretical teaching which is acceptable according to the policy of Higher Education Council (HEC) and National Council of Nurses and Midwives (NCNM).
